What is your favorite part of tandem Pilates training?
Doing tandem sessions at the studio allows us to do it together as we are both pretty much at the same level and it is more fun with a partner to enjoy our successes and mourn our inadequacies.
In what ways has Pilates added to your life?
Pilates helps us feel younger and better able to take on physical challenges more easily.
In my case, it has strengthened my core and helped me to overcome nagging back issues that had started to slow me down.
For Diane, it has helped her to work through a serious shoulder injury.
We certainly stand taller and more erect than if we didn’t have the benefit of doing Pilates regularly.
How does your tandem partner keep you motivated?
Diane and I motivate each other by reminding ourselves how beneficial Pilates is to our physical and emotional well being.
What is key to your Pilates progress and success?
One thing we should mention is how key Sarah Jarvis is to our enjoyment of our sessions.
She is fun to work with and has an amazing repertoire of exercises for us each week, rarely repeating anything on a week-by-week basis. We have had a number of other instructors over time but none compare to Sarah.
