The misconceptions of weight loss and Pilates

Many times clients will ask if Pilates will help them lose weight. And my answer to that is that Pilates alone is not going to help you lose weight. 

But Pilates will definitely be a key part of a weight loss program, which is essentially a lifestyle program. 

Weight loss is much more attributed to changing your diet, monitoring caloric intake and including aerobic activity into your daily routine. 

But Pilates plays a key role because as you build that routine and create those changes, it’s going to help with your posture and overall strength so that doing aerobic activity, whatever that may be, is just a little bit easier because you have a stronger core, a greater range of motion and a better awareness of how to engage and connect with your breath. 

This all equates to moving more efficiently which translates to more stamina and endurance. 

With all of that in mind, this is a quick 15 minute mat based Pilates workout designed to target different areas of the body that are key to address in order to develop and improve your overall core strength, mobility and endurance. 

Try to get it in at least 2, maybe 3 times per week and let us know how it goes!
