Offered on selected Friday afternoons each month these structured 3 hours Master Classes will include a 60-75 minutes workout led by senior instructor trainer and Studio3 owner Carla Ricalis. Each workout will be followed by a relevant and applicable discussion of the biomechanics, functional anatomy and client assessment taught and lectured by Osteopath and senior instructor trainer Jeff Ong.
The Biomechanics and Functional Anatomy of the Intermediate Reformer Master Class
Move through a strong paced, dynamic Intermediate Reformer workout incorporating all exercises and continuous transitions. In the second half of this Master Class, work through the biomechanics and challenges of selected exercises that will emphasize effective teaching and applicable client programming.
The Proprioceptive Input, Function & Power of Small Props on the Mat Master Class
This mat based workout will integrate small props in updated exercise variations that will create a powerful, yet functional program that can be adapted to your clients. Post workout, we’ll select several exercise sequences to discuss how the props can assist with better movement patterns, provide proprioceptive input and efficient resistance for better recruitment of the primary and secondary muscles.
The Program Progression A: Training to the next level on the Cadillac Master Class
The versatility of the Cadillac is accessed through a 60 minutes workout. Delve deeper into key ‘linking’ exercises that are essential in your clients progression to the next level in all their apparatus training. Post-workout lecture will draw on the more complex exercise sequences to discuss and critique the benefits of the Cadillac exercises. Leave with accessible programming options that will emphasize single and multi-joint mobility, stability, strength and endurance for first time and advanced clients alike.
The 15/85: 85% Upright, Functional Training on the Stability Chair Master Class
In this 60 minutes essential/intermediate Stability Chair workout, you’ll be moved through a challenging workout that will demonstrate how to safely progress functional load and endurance. Emphasizing movement patterns that enhance stronger, everyday activities, this Master Class will equip you with effective sequences to add into your client programming. Our post workout lecture/discussion will break down the importance of integrating movement patterns that include gravitational force and why it’s important for all functional tasks.
